Honestly, I had no idea Someday or One Day would blow up in Korea this hard.

The show aired in Taiwan in 2019, took home the Golden Bell in 2020, and once it landed on Korean streaming in 2021 it shot straight into the top three. There's even a Korean remake (2023's "Goodbye, My Soulmate"). This is the most successful reverse export from Taiwan to Korea in the past five years.

Direct consequence: Tainan filming spots are now a standard pilgrimage circuit for Korean visitors.

Mistakes I made walking my Korean friends through Tainan (no-BS edition)

This isn't a sponsored cheat sheet.

I scouted the route myself last year before bringing Yujin. Even so, the second pass still racked up 3 fails: 35 minutes in line at 32 Record Store on a Saturday lunch, getting blocked at Fenghe High's gate by a guard on a Monday, and the Erliao driver taking a wrong turn that almost cost us the sunrise.

Yujin gave me grief about that for two whole weeks after we got back, no joke.

So in this guide I flag every "what goes wrong + how to dodge it" per stop: which day has fewest crowds, which gate hours are restrictive, which season to avoid, which transport will trip you up. Spots I haven't actually walked don't make the list.

TOP 1 | 32 Record Store (Xiaobanlou tea house), the most iconic pilgrimage point

Address: No. 7, Lane 199, Section 1, Minquan Rd, West Central District, Tainan Nearest station: 15 min walk from TRA Tainan Station, or 5 min on YouBike Scene in the show: Where Huang Yu-hsuan first hears "Last Dance", one of the most pivotal spaces in the whole drama

Here's a detail you only catch on site. 32 Record Store is actually a tea ware and ceramics gallery called Xiaobanlou. Korean fans walk in confused, the venue looks nothing like a record store because the production team rebuilt the entire interior for filming. But the wall with the "32 Record Store" sign is preserved, and that's the queue-up shot everyone wants.

Warning: don't go between Saturday lunch and Sunday afternoon. That window starts at a 30-minute wait. The sweet spot I tested is the first 30 minutes after opening (usually 10:30). Order a pot of tea, the staff lets you photograph the wall, the whole thing wraps in half an hour. Weekend mornings 9–10 are basically empty.

One more landmine: the shop doesn't let you shoot freely. Order tea first (minimum spend around NT$200), then ask to photograph. My friend tried lifting her phone the first time without ordering and the owner shut it down. After we ordered tea it went smoothly.

Fenghe is a private school, not open to tourists. But the school played it smart, the wall outside the gate with the "Fengnan High" lettering became a free photo zone. Korean fans almost always grab a shot in front of it.

Warning: on weekdays during school hours, even the gate area gets blocked by guards. When I first brought Yujin we hit it during midterm prep week, no parking, no entry. Best window is Saturday morning 9:00–11:00: thin crowds, good light, guards usually look the other way for the wall shot.

A lesser-known tip for this stop: the breakfast spot across the street, Guangming Breakfast, is where local fans hang out. The owner sees a phone in your hand and proactively says "someone came to shoot Fenghe yesterday." I had an egg crepe there for NT$30 with a drink, almost half off Tainan city center prices.

TOP 3 | Grandma Mo's Ice Shop (Longquan Ice), the century-old Madou shop

Longquan Ice has been a century-old shop in Madou long before the show. It wasn't built as a set. That's a huge plus for Korean fans, the thing they hate most is "set built for the drama" pilgrimage spots.

To be straight with you, this is my personal favorite stop. The traditional eight-treasure ice is NT$70 a bowl, packed with toppings, perfect for two to share. The owner will even chat with you about Someday or One Day. Yujin spent 15 minutes in mixed Korean and English with her, and that turned into the highest-engagement IG post when she got back to Seoul.

Warning: it's a 40-minute one-way trip from Tainan city. The route isn't short. Day-trip friends, pick this OR Fenghe, not both. Two-day-one-night people, slot it for Day 2 morning on the way back, that's the smoothest route.

TOP 4 | Xianqing Tea House (the noodle pot shop), the hidden one everyone skips

Most Tainan pilgrimage guides slot this fourth or lower, but after walking it I'd push it higher. Two reasons:

1. The location is still an active noodle pot restaurant with the original sign. Order a bowl, photograph, no awkwardness.
2. The noodle pot itself is great value (around NT$90 a bowl). It doubles as your lunch.

Korean fan guides often miss this one because the KKday Korea blog wraps up after the first three. My recommended slot: anchor it to lunch hour, finish eating, then head straight to 32 Record Store in the afternoon. That's the cleanest route.

A small aside: the owner is friendly, but don't camp at the table too long. When I was there with Yujin, another customer was already giving us the side-eye. We ate, shot, and cleared out. Basic manners.

TOP 5 | Erliao Sunrise Pavilion (Heart-to-Heart Park), the final boss for golden-hour photos

Address: No. 47-40, Erliao Village, Zuozhen District, Tainan Nearest station: No direct bus, you must charter (around 50 min from Tainan city center) Scene in the show: Key dialogue scene between Chen Yun-ru and Lee Tzu-wei

This is the hardest stop on the whole route to reach, but also the one Korean fans want most. Reason: the sunrise.

Erliao's sea-of-clouds sunrise is one of Taiwan photography's marquee shots, and the scene the production team filmed there is the drama's emotional peak. Korean fans have built "Erliao sunrise + Someday or One Day quote" Reels into millions of views. Yujin's own clip cracked 80K, and after Seoul she kept asking me for the Tainan driver's contact every few days.

Warning: don't come here alone, ever. No bus, self-driving means mountain roads in the dark, visibility under 5 meters when fog rolls in. Korean visitors usually go in groups of 2–4 with a chartered car, leaving Tainan city at 4:00 AM and arriving at 5:30 to lock in a spot for sunrise. Our driver took a wrong turn and we almost missed it. Confirm before booking that the driver has actually run the Erliao route.

Tainan accounts for 70% of the whole show, but the actual "2019 Taipei" filming location is Spirit Café in Liuzhangli.

Korean fans usually slot this on their last day in Taipei. If you fly into Songshan, hop on the Wenhu Line for 4 stops and you're there. Spirit Café is a working coffee shop (Tue–Sun 11:00–20:00), pour-overs start around NT$220. Warning: don't shoot staff or other customers, basic manners. I told Yujin upfront, she always asked before snapping.

TOP 7 | Running Man Taiwan Special filming map

Strictly speaking this isn't one location, it's a composite. Running Man came to Taiwan in 2014 and a few times after for specials. Night markets (Ximending, Shida, Raohe), Taipei 101, and Yangmingshan all show up. The crew never released a complete filming map, but Korean fans tag spots they recognize on their own.

In practice the three most-pilgrimaged points are:

1. Shida Night Market (the dachang baoxiaochang scene)
2. Ximending Cinema Street (the chase scene route)
3. Taipei 101 Observatory (the must-shoot K-variety landmark)

Between you and me, Korean fans don't actually look up which episode shot which spot. The mindset is "if it looks similar, it counts." So if you see a Korean group walking down a Ximending alley laughing, odds are they're recreating a scene from memory.
